English – Very Advanced

A very advanced student is able to express himself / herself fluently and spontaneously, without too obvious a search for expressions. The student is able to understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning. The student is able to use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. The student is able to produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects.

Cambridge English: Advanced

  • general English exam at level C1;
  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 800 hours;
  • The exam includes:
    • reading and use of language (90 minutes);
    • writing (90 minutes);
    • listening (40 minutes);
    • oral testing (15 minutes, conducted with two or three candidates).

Cambridge English: Business Higher

  • this exam tests knowledge of business English at level C1;
  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 800 hours of instruction focused on business language;
  • The exam includes:
    • reading (60 minutes);
    • writing (70 minutes);
    • listening (40 minutes);
    • oral testing (16 minutes, conducted with two candidates at once).

BULATS

  • this exam tests knowledge of business English, in which the level of proficiency is determined according to a point score;
  • for level C1, the candidate must achieve 75-89 points out of 100;
  • testing and evaluation system for companies and organisations;
  • there are 4 options for the exam: computer test, standard test, spoken language test and written language test.

STANAG 6001 3

Standardization Agreement 6001 level 3

  • advanced level exam designed to test language skills of employees of NATO and the Czech Army;
  • the level of language proficiency is assessed in four skills in the order of listening, speaking, reading, writing;
  • the exam includes:
    • listening (45 minutes);
    • reading (60 minutes);
    • writing (60-120 minutes);
    • oral testing (30 minutes, conducted with one candidate).

JASPEX Final English Exam

Language and professional preparation for experts

  • this exam tests knowledge of English for experts at level C1;
  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 800 hours;
  • the exam consists of a written test (240 minutes) and an oral test (45 minutes).

SEFIC Level 4

  • oral exam testing knowledge of business English at level C1;
  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 800 hours of instruction focused on business language;
  • The exam takes 40 minutes in total and is conducted with one candidate.

EFB Level 3

  • this exam tests knowledge of business English at level C1;
  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 800 hours of instruction focused on business language;
  • listening and oral test are not mandatory parts of the exam;
  • The exam includes:
    • reading and writing (180 minutes);
    • listening (30 minutes);
    • oral testing (15 minutes, conducted with one candidate).

telc English C1

  • general English exam at level C1;
  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 700-800 hours;
  • the exam is suitable for adults who use English when socializing and at work, or need it while studying;
  • The exam includes:
    • reading (100 minutes);
    • listening (55 minutes);
    • writing (60 minutes);
    • oral testing (16 or 24 minutes, usually conducted together with another candidate).

ECL C1

  • general English exam at level C1;
  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 800 hours;
  • The exam includes:
    • reading (45 minutes);
    • writing (90 minutes);
    • listening (40 minutes);
    • oral testing (13-21 minutes depending on the level, conducted with two candidates at once).

TOEIC® Listening and Reading

  • this exam tests the ability to communicate in an international work environment;
  • level is determined according to a point score from A1-C1;
  • listening test (approx. 45 minutes), reading test (75 minutes);
  • validity of the test result is 2 years.

TOEIC® Speaking and Writing

  • this exam tests the ability to communicate in an international work environment;
  • level is determined according to a point score from A1-C1,
  • writing test (60 minutes) and oral test (20 minutes);
  • validity of the test result is 2 years.

TOEFL®

  • general English exam for candidates at level B1 and higher, in which the level of proficiency is determined by a point score;
  • the candidate must achieve 95-120 points for level C1;
  • validity of the test result is 2 years;
  • a computer test (iBT – Internet Based Test) is used in the Czech Republic; the test takes a total of 240 minutes and includes:
    • listening (60-90 minutes);
    • reading (60-80 minutes);
    • writing (50 minutes);
    • oral testing (20 minutes).

IELTS – 6.5-7.0

  • general English exam at level A2 and higher, in which the level of proficiency is determined by a point score;
  • the candidate must achieve 6.5-7.0 points for level C1;
  • candidates can choose between the Academic or General module;
  • the exam includes:
    • listening (30 minutes);
    • reading (60 minutes);
    • writing (60 minutes);
    • oral testing (11-14 minutes).

LanguageCert ESOL–Expert C1

  • general English exam at level C1 (formerly from the City & Guilds series);
  • the exam focuses on the practical use of language in authentic situations;
  • the written and oral tests of the exam can be taken separately;
  • The exam includes:
    • listening (30 minutes);
    • reading and writing (160 minutes);
    • oral exams (15 minutes).

State Language Exam General

  • general English exam at level C1;
  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 800 hours;
  • the exam includes a written part (240 minutes, reading, writing, listening, use of language – grammatical and lexical structures) and oral testing (25-30 minutes),
  • the exam is organized by language schools with accreditation for state language examinations throughout the Czech Republic.
