German – Intermediate

The intermediate student is able to communicate in simple, common situations. The student is able to describe in simple terms his/her education, surroundings and immediate needs. The student is able to understand communication related to everyday life (e.g. basic personal and family information, shopping, place where he/she lives, job).

general German exam for adults at level A2

  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 200-350 hours
  • the exam includes:
    • listening (30 minutes)
    • reading (30 minutes)
    • writing (30 minutes)
    • oral testing (15 minutes, conducted with two candidates)

general German exam for youth from ages 12 to 16 at level A2

  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 200-350 hours;
  • the exam includes:
    • reading (30 minutes)
    • writing (30 minutes)
    • listening (30 minutes)
    • oral testing (15 minutes, conducted with two candidates).

ÖSD Zertifikat A2

ÖSD KID A2 (Kompetenz in Deutsch A2)

  • the exam includes:
    • reading (35 minutes)
    • writing (30 minutes)
    • listening (15 minutes)
    • oral testing (approximately 10 minutes, conducted with two candidates)

JASPEX 200

standardized exam tests knowledge of the German language at level A2

  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 350 hours
  • the exam includes:
  • written part (comprehension of the text, listening, grammar-lexical part, writing)
  • oral test

telc Deutsch 2

  • general German exam at level A2
  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 200-350 hours
  • the exam includes:
    • listening (20 minutes)
    • reading and writing (50 minutes)
    • oral testing (11 minutes, usually conducted with two candidates)

telc Deutsch A2+ Beruf

  • this exam tests knowledge of professional German at level A2
  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 400 hours of instruction focused on the language of work practice
  • the exam includes:
    • reading and use of language (60 minutes);
    • listening (30 minutes)
    • writing (30 minutes)
    • oral testing (15 minutes, usually conducted with two candidates)

Test WiDaF

  • this exam tests knowledge of business German, in which progress is determined by a point score
  • the candidate must achieve 30-246 points for level A2;
  • the exam is written only – it includes 150 multi-choice questions and tests:
    • vocabulary
    • grammar
    • reading
    • listening

ECL A2

  • general German exam at level A2
  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 300-350 hours
  • the exam includes:
    • reading (35 minutes)
    • writing (45 minutes)
    • listening (25 minutes)
    • oral testing (13-21 minutes, conducted with two candidates)
