Description

Neurodiversity is an often overlooked facet of humanity that at least 20% of the world experiences. Yet by ignoring it, we do a disservice to our co-workers, students and anyone else who we interact with. To introduce the topic, we will have a quiz and brief explanation of neurodiversity. Afterwards, we will discuss inclusive terminology around neurodiversity and disability. Especially how our word choices express support for or stigma against neurodivergent people. Afterwards, we will break into discussion rooms to look at real world examples both in the office and  classroom. At the end of this training, our goal is to have concrete takeaways on inclusive terminology and simple approaches to support neurodiverse students and colleagues.

What you will learn
