German – Beginner

The beginner student is able to interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help. The student is able to introduce him/herself and others and is able ask and answer questions about personal details such as where a person lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has.

Goethe Zertifikat A1: Start Deutsch 1

general German exam for adults at level A1

  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 85-170 hours
  • the exam includes:
    • listening (20 minutes)
    • reading (25 minutes)
    • writing (20 minutes)
    • oral testing (15 minutes, conducted with a group of candidates)

Goethe Zertifikat A1: Fit in Deutsch 1

general German exam for children from age 10 to 16 at level A1

  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 80-200 hours
  • the exam includes:
    • reading (20 minutes)
    • writing (20 minutes)
    • listening (20 minutes)
    • oral testing (15 minutes, conducted with pairs candidates)

ÖSD Zertifikat A1 (ÖSD ZA1)

general German exam at level A1 for candidates from 14 years of age

  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 100-150 hours
  • the exam includes:
    • reading (25 minutes)
    • listening (approximately 10 minutes)
    • writing (20 minutes)
    • oral testing (approximately 10 minutes)

ÖSD KID A1 (Kompetenz in Deutsch A1)

general German exam for children from age 10 to 14 at A1 level

  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 150 hours
  • the exam includes:
    • reading (30 minutes)
    • writing (20 minutes)
    • listening (15 minutes)
    • oral testing (10 minutes)

telc Deutsch 1

  • general German exam at level A1
  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 100-150 hours
  • the exam includes:
    • listening (20 minutes)
    • reading and writing (45 minutes)
    • oral testing (11 minutes, conducted with a group of max. 3 candidates)

telc Deutsch A1 Junior

  • general German exam at A1 level
  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 100-150 hours
  • the exam includes:
    • listening (10 minutes)
    • reading and writing (30 minutes)
    • oral testing (15-20 minutes, conducted with two candidates)

JASPEX 100

  • standardized exam tests knowledge of the German language at level A1
  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 180 hours
  • the exam includes a written test (comprehension of the text, listening, grammar-lexical part, writing) and an oral test
