German – Advanced

The advanced student is able to communicate so fluently and spontaneously that he/she is able to have a normal conversation with native speakers without much effort on both sides. The student is able to understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation. The student is able to explain his/her viewpoint on a topical issue and state the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

Goethe – Zertifikat B2

general German exam at level B2 for adults

  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 700-1000 hours
  • the exam includes:
    • reading (80 minutes)
    • listening (30 minutes)
    • writing (80 minutes)
    • oral testing (10 or 15 minutes, conducted with two candidates)

TestDaF

  • general German exam at level B2-C1
  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 700-1000 hours
  • the exam is intended primarily for those interested in studying at a university in Germany
  • the exam includes:
    • reading (60 minutes)
    • listening (approximately 40 minutes)
    • writing (60 minutes)
    • oral testing (35 minutes, conducted with one candidate)

ÖSD Zertifikat B2

general German exam at level B2 for adults

  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 600-800 hours
  • the exam includes:
    • reading (90 minutes)
    • listening (approximately 30 minutes)
    • writing (90 minutes)
    • oral testing (15-20 minutes for individuals or 20-25 minutes for two candidates)

ÖSD Zertifikat B2 / Jugendliche

general German exam at level B2 for youth from 14 years of age

  • the exam includes:

  • general German exam at level B2
  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 700-800 hours
  • the exam includes:
    • reading and use of language (90 minutes)
    • listening (20 minutes)
    • writing (30 minutes)
    • oral testing (15 minutes, usually conducted with two candidates)

telc Deutsch B2 Beruf

  • this exam tests knowledge of professional German at level B2
  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approx. 600-800 hours, whereas 100-120 hours should be focused on instruction specialized in business language
  • the exam includes:
    • use of language (30 minutes)
    • reading (60 minutes)
    • listening (30 minutes)
    • writing (60 minutes)
    • oral testing (20 minutes, usually conducted with two candidates)

Test WiDaF

  • this exam tests knowledge of business German, in which progress is determined by a point score
  • the candidate must achieve 496-735 points for level B2;
  • the exam is written only – it includes 150 multi-choice questions and tests vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening

ECL B2

  • general German exam at level B2
  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 700 hours
  • the exam includes:
    • reading (45 minutes)
    • writing (75 minutes)
    • listening (35 minutes)
    • oral testing (13-21 minutes, conducted with two candidates)

STANAG 6001

  • advanced level exam designed to test language skills of employees of NATO and the Czech Army
  • the exam includes:
    • listening (40 minutes)

State Language Exam Basic

general German exam at level B2

  • minimum number of completed instruction hours: approximately 600 hours
  • the exam is organized by language schools with accreditation for state language examinations throughout the Czech Republic
  • the exam includes:
    • written part (240 minutes, reading, writing, listening and use of the language)
    • oral test (15-20 minutes).
