A certified electronic translation is a modern alternative to a traditional hard-copy sworn translation. It is delivered in PDF/A format and secured with the translator’s qualified electronic signature and a timestamp. Just like the physical version, it includes the original document, the translation, and the official translator’s certification clause. The key advantage? It can be delivered via email or other electronic means—making the process faster and more cost-effective.

• This type of translation requires both the client’s consent and the sworn translator’s authorization to produce electronic certified translations.

• Its legal validity is typically 5 years (depending on the validity of the translator’s timestamp), but it can be extended upon request.

• During its period of validity, the electronic translation can be converted into paper form—repeatedly if needed—via any Czech POINT office.
